26 Decibels of Ear Protection
Neiko Safety Ear Muffs are an easy and inexpensive way to guard against dangerously loud sound levels common not only around construction sites and machinery, but also around your home.
These sound reducing headphones have a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 26 dB, and are certified by US and European Union hearing protection standards (ANSI S3.19-1974, CE EN-352). They feature a flexible headband, and soft ear cups that gently, but firmly clamp on to your head to block out sound. Ear cups effortlessly slide up and down, ensuring a universal fit, and lightweight materials and spacious 2-1/2-inch(h) x 1-5/8-inch(w) x 5/8-inch(d) ear cups deliver comfortable all-day wear. The outward bend of the ear muff head band allows for the wearing of safety glasses/goggles, as well as a ball cap or other form-fitting head cover.
Noise Reduction for Home and Work
Studies have concluded that short daily exposure to noise levels of 85 dB or higher can cause hearing impairment. Precautions are assumed in industrial environments, but everyday life is loud too. Commonly experienced decibel rates include: rock concerts 100-140 dB, train/garbage truck 100 dB, firework shows 145 dB, consumer power saws 110 dB, jet flyovers 103 dB, shooting range 90-150 dB, and lawn-mowing 85-90 dB. All of these are potentially dangerous, but hearing loss from noise exposure is 100 percent preventable. Invest in your hearing.
